True Or False Comfort?
Where do you find your comfort? It’s an innate desire we all have to be comforted; God places this in us in order to find comfort in the middle of any trial, through the Holy Spirit. Jesus is at work through the Holy Spirit drawing us to Himself, therefore we can find peace and comfort in our relationship with Him.In many different situations in my life, I looked in the wrong areas for a sense of comfort and completeness. Sin of any sort can never bring lasting comfort, but rather temporary and momentary relief. Before, I repented I tried everything to find relief, but was left with only temporary fixes. Once I repented and turned to Jesus, I found comfort that brings deep contentment, peace and overflowing joy. I am extremely grateful for the comforter and the ability to comfort others with the same comfort I have been comforted with!'I pray you be comforted by the Spirit so you can comfort others! In Jesus name!
2 Corinthians 1:3,
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
Promises of God
The promises of God do not hinge on our circumstances, no matter where we are in life; we can begin to depend on His truths. After losing everything, sitting in prison, broken and in need of help! I cried out to Jesus! The beautiful thing is He truly answered and started a process of changing my life. During the last years of prison, the Father started giving me promises for my future. Joel 2:25,”And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.” Jeremiah 29:11, " For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” These are two of the promises that I am able to experience on a daily basis. Our prayer for McDonough is that God’s people experience the victory of His promises. I am extremely grateful for the promises of God and how truth and love prevail. I cannot fully explain how beautiful life is now; I am eternally grateful for second chances and opportunity to experience such sweet freedom!
